Eden Hagos

eden

Eritrean by way of Los Angeles, Eden Hagos, Soulection DJ, brings visibility to those future sounds that you can't quite put your genre finger on. Deeply rooted in underground hip hop, sample-based, percussion-heavy tunes and future bass, Eden's ear for unique sounds has kept her digging since her uncle gifted her with her first Fugees album at age 16.

Eden is poised to bring light to the beat makers in this movement while uncovering and educating folks along the way of all genres that exist within these future sounds.

Fun Fact about Eden:  My culture and Eritrean heritage plays a big role in my life as an artist.

Go-To Advice: Consistency is key.

FELA KUTCHII

FELA KUTCHII, your #1 Scratch n Sniff DJ - is an Oakland native party starter whose selection of hot & heavy bass cuts, booty grinding house, footwork, and international gems collected will leave your panties wet! FELA KUTCHII brings the crowd antics and fun-loving riots to her DJ sets making the dance floor a safe space for all creatives, freaks, oddballs, and disco grannies, looking to be themselves and shake their ass!

Fun Fact about Fela: My Dad was Prince's bodyguard in the Purple Rain era.

Go-To Advice: Always be true to yourself and create through a place of love. Make as much noise as you want and remember that anyway you want to be heard in this industry, there's a space for you and your musica, your vision, your story, your voice. Lastly don't be afraid to stand up to males in this industry who may try to insert their masculinity to push their agenda. This could be from you being on the bill to spin and when your time slot is almost on and a guy comes up and says "you can DJ after me" or starts to set up his gear preparing to go on next instead of you. Or a man suggesting you how to dress or present yourself, BORING! Like I said, there's a lane for you just the way you are and it's fit for all your many moods n attitudes so go head empress n shine!

After earning a degree in the summer of 2016, Sweetest Threat turned her focus to DJing and has been showcasing her talents every since.

Go-To Advice: Fuel intention into everything you do, because anything you want is up for grabs if you believe it can happen.

Namasté Shawty

Anytime she steps into the DJ booth, Namasté Shawty, keeps the energy high and the party live. She's known to play a tailored set for a specific party vibe while still staying true to her narrative and style. She uses music as a source of positivity and, through intentional entertainment, facilitates a femme-centric space where people can get their life on the dance floor. As founder of Las Brujas Radio, Namasté Shawty uses that platform to cultivate a conversation, share experiences and entertain listeners about culturally relevant issues surrounding self-care, emotional health and spiritual practices. Fun and beautiful with a powerful stage presence, she brings the sass and feminine drive to the male dominated industry.

Go-To Advice: Stand up for yourself, don't be afraid to speak up and move with integrity. Unfortunately, this industry can disrespect women and we may experience uncomfortable situations that can normalize inappropriate behaviors if we become complacent or don’t speak out about it.
