Weekend passes allow you entry to all ticketed parties April 7-9 in Downtown Oakland, CA. Weekend passes are currently on sale for $25. You must be 21+ to purchase a weekend pass. 

NOTE: WEEKEND PASSES DO NOT INCLUDE ACCESS TO PANELS, WORKSHOPS, MARKETS, OR WELLNESS EVENTS.

WOMEN BREAKING GROUND IN MUSIC

April 6, 2017 at Pandora Media Headquarters from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (RSVP required)

Join Women in Music! & Pandora Women for "Women Breaking Ground in Music", a panel focused on the diverse ways women contribute to the music ecosystem. From their career development to their experiences navigating the music industry, this panel will explore the different spaces women are creating, changing, and thriving in. Panelists include Ellen Lu of Goldenvoice, rising singer Rayana Jay, Amy Strack of Pandora, Eden Hagos of Soulection, and Claudia Saenz of Chulita Vinyl Club.

FILM SCREENING

April 6, 2017 at 45 Grand (45 Grand Ave.) from 8-10 p.m. (All Ages - Limited Seating)

Enjoy a free screening of "20 Feet From Stardom", a film that sheds light on untold stories from some of the music industry's most prolific women background singers, directed by Morgan Neville. Bring a pillow! Snacks will be provided.

Before the festivities start, come out and engage in our welcoming mixer! We'll also be hosting a market with all-women vendors where you can buy local goods, including everything from apothecary items and vintage goods to handmade jewelry, live nail art, and food. This event is open to everyone. Sounds by DJ Mujie and Arumi.

GOLD PARTY

April 7, 2017 at a Secret Location in Downtown Oakland from 9:30 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. (21+)

Dress in all gold for our opening #WIMBayArea party! In collaboration with the ladies behind Hey Ma!, this is a dance party for self-proclamation, grooves, and releasing negative energy. Sounds will be provided by Red Corvette, DreaFauxReal, Climaxxx, and Wavy Baby, with performances from Khyenci and Stoni. Gold symbolizes everything from vitality and life to wisdom, unification, radiance, and light. ENTREPRENEURSHIP WORKSHOP

April 8, 2017 at Urban Stitch Boutique from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (All Ages - Limited Seating)

Engage in a two-hour workshop at Urban Stitch Boutique, curated by Odilcia B. and Mamou K. of Nook & Kranny, on the ups and downs of being an entrepreneur, building your own brand, and negotiating in a male-dominant industry. This workshop will consist of a few different activities, healthy discussion about navigating unlikely spaces, along with 1:1 conversations with a select group of ladies who are building powerful brands in their own right. Prepare to draft and discuss your business idea or plan. This event is for women only.

A CONVERSATION ABOUT SISTERHOOD & THE FEMALE ALLIANCE

Women in Music present a candid conversation about the female alliance and sisterhood, lead by the women of House of Malico, in hopes of exploring the strength and power of women who work together. Join us for an intimate afternoon at Concept Forty Seven, a lifestyle boutique in Oakland, CA, with natural goods, handmade jewelry, and more. Our two hour event will end with original poetry about the experience of womanhood from poets: Zariya AllenSarah O'Neal and Teespeaks.

Experience a variety of sounds from different cultures with our "Global Vibrations" day party, a celebration that features a variety of women DJ's, including sets from Chulita Vinyl Club, K La V, AfroDJiak, and Red Corvette. These women will be spinning the music they find most exciting, everything from dancehall and afrobeat to cumbia and salsa. Global Vibrations is in partnership with our good friends at Parliament. We encourage all attendees to wear clothing that represents their culture (optional)!
